It's not unusual for people to want a brochure without a clear idea of what they want to do with it. It should be kept firmly in mind that a brochure is not a marketing program in and of itself, but it can be an important tool in one.
For one thing, it's a succinct way of conveying information. For another, in healthcare environments especially, it's a concrete artifact patients (and prospective patients) can hold in their hands to feel connected to the organization and people from whom they are receiving services. This tactile element in generating and holding onto patients or customers cannot be overstated.
Collateral doesn't have to be to be complex or expensive. Twenty-page, four-color booklets may be impressive, but simple fact sheets and four-panel brochures that are well-presented and contain useful information can be as valuable.
